Get Eater of Days out (I recommend with Illusionary Mask, because why not? or sneak by it's EtB trigger by manifesting or some other way), put Followed Footsteps on it and then immediately Donate Followed Footsteps. During your opponent's upkeep they will get an Eater of Days, skipping their next two turns. Before their next turn, you most certainly will have the time, use Time Elemental (or any other recurring creature removal, like Temporal Adept, Avatar of Woe, Gorilla Shaman, etc.) to get rid of their copy.
Oh, and don't forget to hit them with your own Eater of Days during their lack of turns.

Since the copies are copies of your card, would Homeword Bound bring them back to you?
