This was more of a question rather than a post. Would this work to avoid death if island were elite arcanist?

Nope. Game hits the end step of the first turn ANY Final Fortune or its Portal block clone give you, you lose. Only way to avoid it is to either be unable to lose with one effect or another, or to end your turn with Sundial of the Infinite (the game loss only checks on the end step of the extra turn, so after that you are in the clear).

An effect to counter the trigger, like Trickbind (I think, never actually bothered to read it) could also dodge the defeat.

If combined with Sundial of the Infinite, will I get multiple turns or will Sundial also cut of the extra turn?

As in 'do I still get an extra turn if I prematurely end my turn'?

Yes, absolutely. Judges usually refer to a 'turn stack' - typically, the turn stack is set in stone, in a you/them/you/them sort of way. When you play an extra turn card, you've effectively changed the turn stack, to you/you/them, or if you've played multiple extra turns (such as when you hit the jackpot with Ral Zarek), you/you/you/you/you/them. This applies to any card that gives you extra turns.

So if you play final fortune, and sundial, the turn stack is effectively you/you/them, with the added condition that during the end step of the second 'you' turn, you lose the game. By using the sundial, you prevent that ability from activating. If, during the extra turn, you used the Arcanist's ability again, you'd still just be creating a you/you/them turn stack, except both your present turn, and your next one both have the 'you lose the game' element to them, which can be superseded by the Sundial on either turn.

tl;rd version - yes, you can use this for infinite turns for 'cheap'.

back when mirarri was new people used mirrari with final fortune, copying it multiple times, but that doesnt work anymore since the errata for final fortune... but... if you have platinum angel out, it does work well with isochron scepter or panoptic mirror for infinite turns

Draco, mate - that's only presuming that you're copying Final Fortune over and over again on the same turn.
