Get all the parts out however you see fit. Then tap the coating to make the planeswalker an artifact and therefore equipment because of the bludgeon brawl, and equip it to its creature version. Not a playable combo, but worth the look on your opponent's face when they get to imagine a dragon swinging its future self around like a flail.

i already posted something similar a while ago... it doesn't work though, because it still a sub type of planes walker so it cant be replicated without losing them all

id love to be able to do stuff like that, but alas, i cannot, as per the rules of the game :(

There is nothing between Nicol Bolas or his planeswalker counterpart that triggers either the planeswalker rule OR the legend rule.

The legend rule kills legendary permanents that share a name. Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker is a different name than Nicol Bolas.

The planeswalker rule kills two planeswalkers that share the same TYPE. ie, Jace the Mind Sculptor and Jace Beleren both die because they both have Jace as their type. Nicol Bolas has Elder Dragon as his type, not Bolas.

Incidentally, for mana purposes, this can also be achieved with Karn Silver Golem and Karn Liberated, as well as Venser, Shaper Savant and his planeswalker future self.

We can do this with Venser and Karn too. Do it with all of them for 35 paradoxical damage!
I get why mechanically Karn Liberated was not made an artifact, but flavorwise it doesn't make much sense.
