The Roc Egg SHOULD be Ludevic's Test Subject, but the database seems to have issues accepting cards with punctuation in their names.



Anyway, this is a cheap, bant-color way to get a 13/13 beastie rolling on your opponent. Hit yourself with the shields to make the test subject 'human', then cast moonmist to transform it. With no acceleration except for good bant lands, this can happen on turn 3, with the subject dropping on turn 2.

Three card tricolor combo, but cheap enough to play relatively quickly and well worth the Beef-Beast.

Not a bad idea.... But there's got to be a faster way of doing this.

Until then, great idea - but I'm still holding out for a better, faster trick for this. It'll happen, damnit. :D

It could go dual color using Unnatural Selection instead of Shields of Velis Vel, but that slows it down, since you need 2 for the enchantment and 1 to activate it.

unnatural selection is a good investment, if you need the right mana and if you have more eggs in later play.

The Wings of Velis Vel are only partially good for this. They overwrite what the creature's printed P/T is, so even when it transforms, its still 4/4 from the wings.
