However since life doesn't matter perhaps cleansing meditation might be a better route. Lol.

Or maybe it isn't. /:D

Seriously, this route causes a reset, without you having to rely on Threshold, and setting you up with a massive in-game advantage for your effort.

This is a better version of Zuran Orb + Jokulhaups! You probably get the more life and it can go off two turns earlier!

Your an idiot academic is a laughable name for you. Yes life gain and even board is one thing having all your permanents in play while others go to hell. Sorry meditations better it makes threshold when it goes off no less. So not much reliance. Some people are just dense and then there's you. Again if you wanna say that dumb shit multanis decree root greevil easily better but meditation light years ahead. Life gain isn't shit if you involve poison counters mill etc. However. All shit in play while no one else has anything = win. O wait I forgot gaining life is a win too. Lol...idiot.

Not too big on meditation card. It's nice, but not as interesting. This gives more of a challenge for all ends and gives you the upper hand, especially in a commander game late in it. Life may not matter, but it won't be as easy for anyone to win. Meditation isn't much fun. Not a bad suggestion, just not the twist I was looking for in  this.

Fair enough that's a fair response. I'll accept that if commander is the route u go. Wasn't trying to knock your combo in any way just pointing toward other similar options.

Oh, so much boring rhetoric.

First, saying "OH YEAH WELL I COULD JUST WIN THEN USING POISON" is like every other retard who's said "OH YEAH WELL I COULD JUST COUNTER IT". It's special pleading, a formal fallacy, and that right there is the first red flag that you're fucking clueless.

Second, meditation is a boring card that hinges on that Threshold, and no, it doesn't feed it's own Threshold ability, you fucking dolt, and I can't believe you even implied as such.

Unless what you were saying was 'well, after you play it, you now have threshold', except, who cares? Enchanted Evening is now in the graveyard.

(Your gut reaction here will be to say something along the lines of "OH YEAH WELL I MIGHT DRAW ANOTHER ENCHANTED EVENING/OH YEAH WELL I MIGHT BE ABLE TO FETCH IT FROM THE GRAVEYARD". Doesn't matter. You're back to special pleading.)

Whereas Chewy's option gives you an immediate reward for taking an action. Irrespective of any other conditions.

Fourth - Assuming two decks are mathematically comparable (same damage output, same creatures on defense), then you're fucking right the deck with more life wins. It's stupid to imply otherwise.

Last but not least, you really need to work on your literacy before you try an attack anyone's intelligence, muffin. As well as your understanding of logic, and your ability to debate, because with the exception of a few key combos, you consistently come off like an illiterate fucking idiot.

Seriously, though - you're being a piss-pants baby because I said innocuous about your combo. That's pretty fucking funny.

I would also like to point out that Jokulhaups + Zuran Orb was an Ice Age SET combo back in 1995. It was proven effective. This is more encompassing and sets off quicker. Great with Test of Endurance.

@academic does it matter that enchanted evening is in grave when meditation brings it and every other card/permanent back to play? Tard! So your whole argument hinges on the opinion meditation is boring? Therefore making life gain better? Tard! Your drivel on trying to sound any bit smarter was lacking. One step forward two steps back! One step forward two steps back!

@Boyachi - that's exactly what I was thinking. Test of Endurance, or the Felidar Sovereign. I used to run those cards in my -edit- UW -/edit- control deck - I never lost. Period. One part undercosted creatures, one part control, one part life gain. Lockdown the board, and win with lifegain.

That said, I didn't want to commit the same fallacy reaper did by engaging in special pleading.

@idiot - does it matter if Enchanted Evening is in your graveyard, and you don't have threshold?

I'll answer for you - yes, yes it does. You pay eight mana for something Jokulhaups does for six.

This version has no downside. It's completely reliable. You goddamned baby. :D

I'm sorry you're insecure (not really, it's funny), but I'm not 'trying' to do anything - I'm not going out of my way to be smarter than you - I am legit smarter than you. And that makes you so mad.

Going to make this clear so there is no confusion for others.
Cleansing Meditation's threshold ability is a replacement effect, if you have threshold when it resolves the replacement takes affect destroying all enchantments, and bringing your stuff back.  However, if you do not have threshold at the time of resolution, all it does is destroy all enchantments.  What cleansing destroys does not effect its own threshold ability.

@ academic lol I c u changed previous statement as both cost the same. But I agree with gericault on each level I also don't know why its even a debate. Again I only made s post to chewy no one else. Wasn't bitching or complaining over his combo. Merely stated meditation was of the SAME CAST COST as well as a great option in similar use.

Five posts in a row. You're not mad. You're not even mad at all.

Fucking looooooool. :D

Protip, muffin - No one actually says 'Ferme le bouche'. Technically, it'd be 'ferme la bouche', or maybe even 'ferme ta bouche', but even those are really dumb, crude and clumsy handlings of the language. You'd be more correct to say "tais-toi", or maybe even "ferme ta gueule", but I mean, that would require you to actually speak the language, instead of impotently waving around words you have no understanding of.

Would you really like to go down this route, idiot? I'm smarter than you regarding language, too. :D

And before you start spazzing about how you don't even care about language (in much the same way that you've said you don't care about anything you've brought up so far (or anything you've spazzed out about), remember that you brought it up. :D

Don't get me started jokujhaups either its a good card that makes everything die woopty zoo ever heard of nevinerals disk? Now jokulhaups becomes shit in comparison. Not to mention the combo orb and jokul still equals 8 mana as both my combo and chewys did yet mine is the only leaving my permanents in play. There's the upside of life gain for theirs which is not bad but if you wanna be honest here life gain would not beat mill in a deck v deck game if someone resets down a ton of cards. Mill would kill and that is that. The point is yes last minute if forced I could toast all but more often than not its hard to not get threshold if you go for it in this way. I could put a load of cards in grave numerous ways. Opponents too. I regard less not gonna sit and debate it with you since I wasn't to begin with.

Clinging to lil trinkets again I c lol sorry like I said some things are auto corrected can't help that buy no responses to german, Chinese, Japanese, kinda think you the persona affettata. Little more for ya there...new language maybe you can get it...I find it funny you only recognize the language of the french. Those which you despise. Any reason you wanted to learn their language or are you just french and talking shit about yourself? You are parasita...at best. Another new language. At this point best thing you could do is tirar a ti mismo hacia el trafico. You'd be doing even yourself a favor there.

reaper, now I got it. "Blvde" was just misspelled, it is written "Blöde". I didn't succeed finding it in urban dictionary and therelike... Don't you have ä, ö, ü on your mobile? If your keyboard doesn't have such letters than use the ae instead of ä, oe for ö and ue for ü. that is also common practice in Germany for some use cases.

Not unless he's downloaded a Smart Keyboard app. Androids don't include accents by default - just whatever their regional settings are.

reaper, you need to stop using the words that Google translates for you. It's not set up -edit- for -/edit- proper cogent language - it can only handle literal translations. No one in would ever actually call another person a 'persona affectata', for example - they'd say you were full of shit (and the correct term for that is 'merduso').

Which is a good thing to know, considering you're full of shit. :D

And don't front - you don't think it's funny that I speak French despite my antipathy, you just don't understand how I can hold contempt for a people while still speaking their language. That's two very different things.

And it's easy. I was raised internationally, and thanks to my exposure, I know I speak truth when I'm the French are terrible, vacuous, cowardly, reactionary slobs. Only an idiot would have feel antipathy for a foreign people without learning their language.

Hi, idiot. :D

You wanna try and act by saying you know this shit? Please interpret all of what I said because it does have meaning believe me I learned this shit. Sorry if you fear being on the wrong end for a change. But guess I'll break it down this way if you can't answer what these mean then don't act like a know it all. Id gladly tell you what it all means if you wish to look shit up since your psych mind convinces you you're always right. I know its hard to admit someone could actually know more about anything but its OK. I'll give you this much its German french Italian Russian Spanish Chinese and Japanese you can figure out which is which but they definitely all mean what they are supposed to. You are way off on merduso as well. Not even close to same thing.

Hey, look, he's shifting the goal posts again. :D

I get that you feel if you argue long enough, you're going to look less stupid, here, but this isn't the first time someone exploded and spazzed out because I said something mean to them one time, little guy.

That said, other people have already called you out because you're acting like a creep. Hell, Boyachi said something against you, and that guy always tries to be a centrist - never picking sides.

Do you realize how fucking shitty you have to be for that to happen? /:D

But by all means, reply with more 'foreign language' words you're using poorly, in an unstructured fashion, because I called you out on your piss-poor understanding of French, when you tried to use French in a pointed fashion, because you thought I didn't understand the language. :D

See? I don't have to make up a thing about you, reaper. You've had to lie about all sorts of crap, and make outright make shit up in order for you to front, and not look like my lesser - but you very much are my lesser, because I've been smacking you around, with nothing but factual information you've been providing the forum.

I'm more honest than you. I'm smarter than you. I'm better than you.

No run away little girl think you're bout to experience first ever menstral cycle. So look out world this bitch will get worse. You're pathetic I see your supposed psych teachings taught you to state you're right even when you aren't and those lacking knowledge would believe in the falsities you spew forth from your mouth. How 1996. :D

Who exactly are you trying to convince

something I could link to. I haven't had an 'opinion' - I've mocked you,
using your own words.

And now you're the guy who's
talks about his penis on an internet magic forum.

PS: "Reaper...I'm going to try to warn you not to go into
this battle. As it is stands now in this thread since you retroactively
editted your post, you look like the aggressor, even with how coldly
Academic told you that your combo would not work." -Boyachi

Yes I know this is rough you are an alternative soul. Would you be more at home talking about vagina? And no you just made a stupid comment over and over trying to sound smart reverting back to a word with wrong first letter, a combo I care nothing about and saying I can't take criticizm as I joked with the guy who " criticized me" ( gave advice and input) so you really brought nothing but stupidity to a conversation that in no way involved you. This only continues to make me laugh each time you waste your time TRYING to get under my skin. Glad you at least knew some french. Just makes it easier knowing you have no retort to any other language. Yet apparently you're somehow better? Call in you out as the poseur here for the second time this time in English! Any response now that you can understand the language? I just wondering why you have no reply to any of that if you speak so many languages and traveled world? Guess if you could make light of that I would be more inclined to think something you say is honest and also believe you aren't a poseur.

I remember well that IT stated that I "spazzed out", but that was just in the middle of ITs pimping away after I confronted IT in several threads wherein IT was no longer capable of adequately responding.
Now IT confronts reaper to talk about penis size, but I remember as well that IT talked about lesbian sex and lattex fetish sex providing links to buy such stuff.
All regular visitors of this site are aware off these dejavu-like academic behaviour, we don't need another debate on this.
Academic is the aggressor once again, on the other side I do not support reaper's offending behaviour including direct offenses.
I suggest that Academic keeps ITs "le bouche" or whatever closed and stops commenting on posts from some users of this site. We are not keen on his comments which are in first place offending and roasting.
P.S.:  I'm glad that IT did not post a combo http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=1&tid=65508&t=dragons-maze-spoilers without credits to http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=499778
