Poppet goes into the graveyard, Necrotic Ooze is now a 4/3 with no -1/-1 counters on it, with the Poppet's ability to remove -1/-1 counters from itself to give other creatures -1/-1 counters. Equipped with the Greaves, it can't receive any further -1/-1 counters from any targetted abilities.

You specifically need the Devoted Druid (or another free -1/-1 counter generator) for the infinite aspect of this combo to go off, and you specifically need your Necrotic Ooze to be targetable, which you're undoing by equipping the Greaves.

This one doesn't work.

That's actually a good point.. forget the Greaves.. and use Swiftfoot boots.. because someone just did that combo to all my creatures and annihilated me, so it does work, just not with Greaves, i meant Boots

The Greaves/Boots aren't really the problem, in that they don't do much here, aside from making sure the Ooze can't be targetted by detrimental effects.

You can't just remove Devoted Druid from this combo. Ooze is the soldier, Poppet's ability is the gun, but Druid's ability are the bullets. It's not the equipment that's the problem - it's that there's no -1/-1 counter generation mechanism.

You could substitute the Druid with Barrenton Medic or Cinderhaze Wretch - Druid is just the best choice since it's cheaper, and a mana generator to boot.

-edit- Also, the Wretch would add the benefit of being mono-coloured, as well as giving a fun mill aspect to the combo. -/edit-

Though it has shroud, it is still able to do anything that says like "Put a -1/-1 counter on devoted druid". it isn't being targeted.
