It's clunky I know, but I thought I'd put it up here to see if anyone can offer up any suggestions.

With Kismet and Stasis locking everything down, turn your lands into Merfolk creatures using Conspiracy and Living Lands. Merrow Commerce will then untap all of your lands at the end of your turn, allowing you to pay Stasis' upkeep next turn.

Maybe try Xenograft instead of Conspiracy? That eliminates the need for black mana. Also, try Living Plane instead of Living Lands to get all your opponent's lands too. Lastly, try Frozen Aether instead of Kismet to keep in Green Blue.

Then once you're up and running, use Sleep or Cryptic Command to tap all your opponent's creatures.

There's also the more elegant solution of Awakening.

Murkfiend liege will untap your blue/green creatures each upkeep.

Murkfiend isnt bad but you need to get the lands a color or they wont untap. Awakening doesnt help at all
Easiest way to do what you want is stasis-frozen aether-seedborn muse

awakening is a good way around it, as is time elemental used at the end of the stasis controller turn..
also... scour works well too (hold a quash ready for that counterspell)

another good way around it.. armageddon or living lands and anything that can wipe the board of creatures cant play stasis upkeep without mana or mana to bounce it...

Gericault, you're wrong, mate. Not only does running Awakening bypass Stasis completely, it untaps you on each of your opponent's turns as well.

Awakening says ALL creatures and lands not just ones you control. It untaps your oppenents stuff each upkeep to

And?

-edit- Seriously, though - you're running green, which means you're probably running either Big Beefy Creatures, or Mass Mana Production (which means lots of tap abilities). Or Green Tribal, which usually means a little of both.

You're against a Stasis deck, which typically are low in creatures, and out for a deck death through card draw, discard and mill. I'm sorry, no, you're wrong, gericault. Awakening is a gem, and invaluable.-/edit-

Actually, I think it's me. :D

Alos, I think I may have misunderstood the purpose of this combo. You're looking for a means of having Stasis and Kismet out on the field while having functional creatures, right? And not a means of bypassing Stasis altogether?

If that's the case, then I've misunderstood. It seems strange to want to force a Stasis/Kismet deck to do something other than what it's best at, so I hadn't considered that a possibility, and I had made my declaration with that sort of consideration in mind.

@Academic

I was looking to make a deck with the Kismet/Stasis combo and was trying to find a way to both pay the upkeep of Stasis and still have my permenants untapped and ready to go while keeping my opponents tapped down.

I'm sorry if my wording of my title caused confusion, it was 3 AM when I wrote it so I wasn't thinking straight. XD

I love some of the ideas posted though, thank you to everyone who participated. I did get to see that awakening would be something to hold back a counter-spell for. :P

I had thought as much. Why not just throw in Instill Energy? It's a one mana card that isn't too expensive to own.

Alternately, you could always just add Merrow Commerce and Opalescence. Worst case scenario, if your opponent does manage to to break Stasis/Kismet, you've got a strong selection of creatures out on the field (I mean, I am assuming, but Stasis/Kismet decks do tend to be enchantment heavy). Best case, you've got a lockdown on the board, with each Merrow Commerce (now 2/2 merfolk creatures) untapping at the end of turn.

Running a statis deck myself, I will give a few suggestions monoblue suggestions:
1) Use blue lair lands to bounce your tapped islands (hence playing them again untapped)
2) Use Chronatog to skip your next turn (activate this during your opponent's turn) so that you never have to pay the upkeep cost. If you don't get them all jammed up before you start this, it can backfire, so make sure you tap their lands and creatures somehow (drain power and Ensnare).
3) Living Tsunami has an upkeep cost of returning a land from play to your hand. Return a tapped island, play it untapped, then tap it next turn (then return it rinsing an repeating). Probably the easiest way (aside from Eon Hub) to keep Statis active.
4) Boomerang. Boomerang your Statis at the end of your opponent's turn when you are running low of untapped lands. This means that YOU get an untap phase and get to replay Statis. I am embarrassed at how long it took me to figure this out, but it is my absolute favorite way to extend the life of Statis.

i mentioned awakening as a anti-stasis... :P ur not wrong gericault... awakening and stasis arent great in the same deck, but i meant the awakening to face your opponents stasis
