no, you still need to pay the X for the green card.  If you don't you won't have selected the target creatures.

Use Touch of Darkness instead.

Touch of Darkness is the best choice. For multi-colored decks, you can run also run it's counterparts - Dwarven Song, Heaven's Gate, Sea King's Blessing, or Sylvan Paradise. There's also Pollen Remedy for the same cost, or the more expensive Sway of Illusion, which comes with a card draw.

There are many better (and functional) options.

...Neither is Serene Sunset.

Nor Hirobi. Not in any magic set since Kamigawa, not even the MTGO, be it I-IV. /:|

For online play, Infernal Harvest or Hail of Arrows.

Weird. I mean, you'd figure the internet's best checklist of magic cards, hard copy or digital would have it listed somewhere. e.e Way to stay current.

After a quick google search, though, I have to concede the point.  Especially considering there was an all-Horobi article posted just a few days ago on pureMTGO.

Uh huh. Just kind of skipped the 'reading posts' part. That's special.
