mox jet can be replaced by a lotus petal or swamp if need be

mox ruby can be replaced by swamp (if mox jet was not replaced by a swamp) or lotus petal or dark ritual


use mox jet or lotus letal to get 1 black mana
cast dark ritual to make it 3 black mana, then play mox ruby, tap it for 1 red mana (unless it was replaced by another mana producer)
makes 1 red and 3 black in your mana pool, cast ostracize to discard nicol bolas, and as a fast effect, use corpse dance to ressurect nicol bolas to play with haste

attack for 7 damage and wipe out their hand

the real combo here only takes 4 mana, and is ostracize (entomb) and corpse dance (yes, it works on emrakul too)

I'm pretty certain that playing the Mox is enough to annoy them. :D

Use Cabal Therapy instead of Ostracize.

My favourite Nicol Bolas combo is Swamp, Dark Ritual, Entomb (to fetch Nicol Bolas) and Shallow Grave. Even if you use four cards on your first turn, your opponent starts at 13 life with one card in hand.

Another a alterantive to Ostracize is Despise cause it'll also let you  discad a planeswalker.

If you have another dark ritual and altar's tomb you can sac your creature, so it won't get exiled.
