Title: General Jarkeld + Trap Runner?

I have been wondering about this one for a while.
Can I use Trap Runner to make one of my unblocked attacking creatures blocked, then switch that blocked creature with another attacking blocked creature using General Jarkeld?
Example:
I attack with Were-Bear and Scornful Egotist. An opponent blocks the Were-Bear and lets scornful egotist go, but I REALLY want my Egotist to deal combat damage to that blocking creature. Could I tap Trap Runner to make scornful egotist blocked, then tap Jarkeld to switch egotist and Were-bear, allowing my egotist to get that glorious 1 damage on the blocking creature.

I see no reason why it would not work, as long as the blocks were legal. The same would occur if you Swords-to-Plowshares/Unsummon/Terror/Lightning Bolted their creature instead of using TR: you would have a blocker essentially blocking nothing. Swapping a creature to that blank block should be fine.
As a fine print (for newer players, not Saturn), you cannot simply assign a blocker to nothing JUST to make it a blocker in order to get/trigger some sort of bonus.
