Ya seriously! They can take on human form now? wtf

@Boyachi: I use magicspoiler.com, they're usually pretty reliable and timely with their releases. I also double checked several sources around the web and everyone's talking about it lol.

"Silvers you control"? Are you kidding? The amazing thing about Silvers was their weakness of the brood. A Mistform ____ or a changeling or a Clone would gain all of the opponent's brood's abilities and bonuses. There was even a silver or two which shut down an opposing brood.
The sheer flavor of the silver works with proximity. If they are going to limit the range, what about silver vs silver combat? Something special should happen...but it isn't.
I will say the power shift from Timberwatch Elf (all elves) to Immaculate Magistrate (you control) was absolutely necessary, but slivers have had that power from the start. Don't dumb them down for newbies, reprint them in Kronos/Kakarot/Kratos/Whatever the Next Expansion is Called.

On a sidenote, I would like to point out how good the common slivers inversely to the uncommon slivers.

I like the flavor of it all. :D Slivers have been adapting to whatever threats meet the species (in a Borg kind of way), and one of the threats to the species was when it came in contact with foreign Plague Slivers. Eventually, it makes sense for the species to adapt to not give benefits to outsider slivers, if only so they can cull alien threats.

What I'm most interested in, though, is the greater implication of Slivers in 2014.

There's only one method of keeping the Hive strong - the Queen. There's been two bits of speculation that I've heard recently - the first is that 2014 will include a reprint of the original Queen, or a new version of the card.

The other is that the set's Planeswalker, which Chandra is currently hunting, has mastered the Hivestone - which means we'll get our first ever Sliver-themed Planeswalker. :D

A friend of mine showed me all the new slivers. And I'm hoping for the plainswalker one. That would be sweet as hell lol. Slivers are amazing already, but they're getting a lot better, and I like that. It'll be nice to see someone draft them lol. But everyone's gonna try to if there are enough. What do you think a sliver plainswalker's ult. would do?

They will never reprint Sliver Queen she is on the restricted list. Love to see it though, but won't happen. Now them being humanoid is kind of cool and weird. It is like Alien/Prometheus where the human form is looked at. Now I will say striking sliver looks like Predator and almost every new Phyrexian card looked like a Xenomorph. Done being confusing now.

If they are making Sliver the mechanism this year, then they're also going to make a way to break them.

Butt yeah, this is going to be a fucking boss prerelease.

Another blatant theme is tribal beasts! Dragons are also a possibility (based on Scourge of Valkas). :D

I hope so, otherwise he won't be a very good mythic haha. There's only a handful of dragons that cost less than 5 cmc, so his etb effect will just suck without any support. I guess the other dragons entering trigger his effect too, but really, how many dragons do you get out onto the field at once... >_>

Maybe something will be added for Dragons in an upcoming set. I like the Scourge and could see it being used more in a Modern deck where you can have stuff like Dragonstorm, Sarkhan's last ability, and Dragonmaster Outcast. Fun stuff. :)
