Title: Modern Masters Spoilers!

We've got three cards spoiled so far, including one which someone found in their prerelease booster.

First off, they're reprinting one of the best cards ever made.



Tarmogoyf is currently a $115 card, so the reprint is clearly going to mess with it's value. Still, what a massive break, right? :D

Also pretty cool is this beautiful land.



I have never not loved this card.

Last but not least - seeing how this is how we got our first Return to Ravnica spoiler, it looks like this is now going to be a method Wizards is using to disseminate upcoming sets. Still, I don't mind. :D

The card itself isn't much - but it's always nice to be ahead of the curve. ^_^

Never again will I think of City of Brass the same way since the Unhinged set came out.

Wolf - It also works really, really well with Darien, King of Kjeldor.

They are reprinting the spirit dragons, now i can get them in my dragon edh and i can chainsaw people with the new lengend rules

I fucking hate Sunburst. These cards are almost always stupidly expensive, are practically hinged on your playing a chromatic deck, and even the ones that seem like they'd be great cards (Suntouched Myr, Solarion) are really meh.

I mean, take a look at an average Sunburst card.



Sooo..... assuming you're in an ideal situation, you spend five mana (with a chromatic spread), and for that, you get a 5/5 flyer.

That's it.

As opposed to, say







Seriously, screw Sunburst. :p

No, you can't, because I was citing the average Sunburst card.

Five mana casting cost, 0/0 creature with +1/+1 counters relative to color diversity, and an average ability.

The exceptions to this rule involve either a ridiculously high-cmc, or have a trivial impact on the game.

And if you're playing a chromatic deck (which is the only real purpose to playing a Sunburst deck), pretty much any card out there with a like CMC is better than a Sunburst card, for the costs, and the requirements to set up your cards.

Fuck Sunburst.

Frankly I liked the sunburst cards, granted power creep has caused them to become completely outclassed, at the time, a 5/5 flier for 5 at common level was unheard of.  Etched Oracle was a 4/4 for 4 that let pay 1 to trade for a creature and net 3 cards, Clearwater netted you 5 life per turn, engineered explosives was early ratchet bomb.  pentad prism is a great color fixer. 
But like I said power creep has blown them away, now the only time they see play is in the kitchen, but that happens a little more now thanks to proliferate and now Vorel
 
But enough about sunburst.  I want to know if they gave us 2 of the spell bombs, why not the other 3

We'll be getting them. It looks like most of the inclusions into Modern Masters are full cycles - you can expect some of the last spoilers will include the whole set.

Believe me, I get the impatience - They've posted two of the Swords so far, and the one I want isn't either of them.

we got the only swords we could have gotten.

In all Im disappointed in the selection they made for this set, for something that was suppose to be top cards its a disappointment, wheres the kaldra equipment, thelon, damnation, ranger of eos. I realize they cant flood it with high price cards but they could have better selection of low value cards that were actually played, i mean they gave us hillcomber giant and sandsower, did people actually play these? won't burrenton forge tender and ballista squad been better choices, (squad especially with the rebel subtheme)
I dont see the reason to throw out 13 for a booster, its cheaper to just get the cards i want

Not TOO bad actually... I was a little underwhelmed at the set as a whole so I decided against the $300 price tag for 24 rares and 24 foils; but I DID buy a couple of packs for just under $30. I pulled a Demigod of Revenge ($5) and a Divinity of Pride ($8) as my rares. But my main money card was a foil Kitchen Finks (~$15) and a few other decent commons and uncommons like Mind Funeral, Lava Spike and Flickerwisp, As a whole I GUESS I broke even in value, but I wouldn't buy anymore packs unless you want to gamble at the chance of pulling a Goyf or a Confidant. The singles aren't even that expensive so I'd just buy what you want and avoid the jank.

Bingo. I'm personally interested in gambling on getting a cool card or two - but there's no chance I'd drop three c-notes for what really amounts to lots of interesting-if-meh cards, and a small handful of cool ones.
