Title: Hospital terror

So, my girl went into the hospital on 2/26/13 for a spiral fracture of distal fibula. They discharged her the same night she went in without having orthopedics look at the break. She was given a pair of crutches which she wasn't properly shown how to use. Once home, she fell using said crutches and further injured the break be severing a ligament from her tibia, which tore off a piece of the tibia. On 3/1/13, I took her back to the ER where a doctor admitted fault for the negligence on the hospital's part. I fought tooth and nail (see?! a MTG reference) to get her admitted to the hospital. Once admitted, she was subjected to gross negligence, apathy from the nurse staff and someone "misplaced" her vital personal identification papers. (ID, SS Card, Birth Certificate). Well, today, after hounding the hospital staff for 7 days straight, the Dean of Medicine FINALLY wants to talk to me tomorrow, which is when my girl is scheduled for discharge. The sheriff's department has been made away of the "lost" documents, and the state medical board has been made away of the egregious behavior of the hospital staff as well as their errors and negligence in her treatment. Several times throughout her stay, I was told that she would be better off at a different hospital run by the university of this state. What the fuck man...

Oh, christ, you didn't go to a Catholic hospital, did you?

Those fucker believe that reality will all work out for them, so long as they believe it will. That's some unreasonable bullshit.

As a matter of fact, it is a Catholic Hospital. I'm hiring a Jewish lawyer by the way.

I hope they pay dearly for her pain. That kind of negligence would have killed my grandparents any of the numerous times they've been hospitalized in the past couple of years.

Ugh. I'm glad you brought her to an institution that actually respects science.

I thought I would give the Catholics the chance to get something right. How is it I'm surprised when they fucked things up? Should have expected it. Catholics can't do a fucking thing right unless it comes to molesting children. The Dean of Medicine met with me in person yesterday to try and talk me out of suing. Not going to happen. I told her that to avoid a lawsuit, she would need to write a check right now for $2,500,000, absorb the costs for her stay and surgery, fire all the nurses responsible for her poor treatment and give the sheriff's office full access to all records regarding her personal identification documents and where they may have gone. She declined.

Is that a reasonable amount to sue for?!

Plenty reasonable. The lawyer wants to sue for more. It's a permanent injury. Nerve damage is likely. CRPS is caused by this kind of shit.

Barring the negatives; crutches aren't hard to use. I mean before I had my ankle injury I knew how to use them. They aren't hard at all. I am sorry for your pains and sufferings but I just wanted to point out the crutch things. But seriously, I hope you get what you're asking for.

She has documented seizures, which the hospital was well aware of BEFORE they gave her the crutches. This is 100% hospital neglect and malpractice. Her orthopedic told her to throw the crutches away.
