Well, frankly this site has seen a shift of interest - people (like yourself) seem to be more interested in what books and games and movies other people like, and less interested in participating in developing magic strategies and techniques. Now I'm not going to advocate for which is a better pursuit, but realize that this is a site called "MTG Combos". If I want to talk about my interests online, I'm going to do it on sites whose function is for social interaction. People (crazily) come to this site for Magic-related topics. That's why they're sticking to it.

What's been happening however, is that many people (Turbine, DyingJester, etc.) have noticed this shift and have abandoned this site for many of the other Magic sites out there that will actually discuss Magic. And they're not the first. Many "veterans" of this site have been slowly and slowly disappearing. I've seen little of SirZapdos, Shakii, TwoGunKid, and many many others for some time, and I don't think they're going to start coming back. With the major contributors leaving, this site sort of (in the past few weeks) came to be more about the forum, and less about anything else.

Now people are bored or tired of commenting about their persona life, and this site will be stagnant for a good time. Less people proposing combos, less people commenting on forums. You could call it the life cycle of this site. Perhaps things will pick up again. And then again, perhaps not.

Correct...

This happens usually around christmas time...

The spark fades, but it always comes back...

With overtime shifts and family obligations, things get a little...hard to manage this time of year...true story...I've lived it...

But things always go back to normal after the month of stagnation...I'd recommend finding something else a tad more...fun...

Me personally...I'm taking up League of Legends and Warhammer 40k for a bit...

Tyranids...so many Tyranids...ALL THE TYRANIDS! <3

But yeah...this happened last year...and the year before that...and so on and so forth...

It's a cycle...and the fact that New Phyrexia rotated out...did not help matters mtg-wise...It gave us anticipation for a new block...and speculation...well...it's just boring...When the new set previews come out...things will pick up...

But for now...it's just...

Boredom...
