Title: EDH staples by colour - No repeats

Hi all, so I've been on MTGO for almost a year now. I don't play do anything competitive like Daily Events or 2-man queues, but I've done a lot of drafts, and I play Standard and Pauper in the Fun room. I also have 2 Modern decks that I'm working on.

I'm trying to get into Commander / EDH. I've played a few games here and there. I have a few decks made, but some are untested and others may not be too good. I've been crushed by people going infinite on the fourth turn a few times. I'm looking for a bit of guidance in some areas. What are some staples of the various colours?

So here's a "game". For each colour, as well as colourless, list a staple, but don't repeat a staple if someone else has listed it. Feel free to list multi-colour cards. Suggest a general that you like as well.

So here are cards that I seem to put in many of my decks-in-progress:
W - Swords to Plowshares
U - Fact or Fiction
B - Phyrexian Arena
R - Wild Ricochet
G - Acidic Slime
C - Sol Ring

The first EDH deck I made had Rafiq of the Many as general.

I really like Mistform Ultimus as a general personally, it's unusual and surprisingly powerful.

U - Jace (the first one)
B - Oversold cemetery
R - Chain reaction
G - Parallel Lives
C - Oblivion stone

Sure, I'm in. ^^

W - Norn's Annex (Not being able to be hit, unless your opponent ties up life and/or mana is sick.)
U - Rite of Replication (Oh, you've managed to get your green creature combo to go infinite? Cool. I'll take five of them.)
R - Planar Void/Layline of the Void (Planar Void is particularly great against the recent resurgence of Flashback and 'Play from graveyard' effects, which was a major mechanism in the last few sets, and looks to be another major mechanism in the upcoming RtR.)
G - Tarmogoyf (It gets broken to the point of ridiculous around endgame - and it turns your opponents against each other, in hopes of neutering your big and beefy.)
B - Thoughtseize (Enough said.)
C - Platinum Angel (Because not being able to lose is the best possible mechanism - and if you throw on, say, Diplomatic Immunity, you can't lose without some significant errors in judgement.)
