Title: Four new RTR cards, including Izzet mechanic

There's an article on the mothership about the new Izzet vs Golgari Duel Deck. The decks look like a lot of fun, and feature some high-powered reprints, like Isochron Scepter, Life from the Loam, Golgari Grave-Troll and Eternal Witness. Here's a link.

Best of all though, the decks contain a bunch of new cards from Return to Ravnica!

Here's Street Spasm, a poor man's Bonfire that debuts Izzet's new mechanic, Overload:



Izzet also has its own charm, which is quite a doozy. I'm looking forward to each of other charms as well:


The Golgari get some playthings as well, starting with their guildmage. It looks like the guildmages will be two-coloured instead of hybrid:


Golgari also gets a speedy beater, who can still contribute even after he's put down:

Instant and sorceries cost 1 less to cast.

When asked how much power is needed, Izzet mages always answer "more"

Kinda bummed they aren't bringing back split mana, at least it looks that way. Im gonna love Overload AND Izzet Charm! Can't wait for the Rakdos Charm!

...And when RtR was released, everyone gave their artifacts intimidate. With the plane of Mirrodin gone, this became a very frightful combination.

I have a feeling that I'm not going to like that goblin. It will however flow very well with overload, which I like immensely and hope they expand upon the mechanic.

Keep an eye out over this weekend - Castles and Crooks is claiming that some 28 cards have been spoiled, and are waiting for upload.

I really, really, REALLY hope that the Shocklands get reprinted. I don't want to pay $100 for a playlist of Steam Vents on MTGO.

That's one of the cards in the Duel Deck. It doesn't mean that it's not in RTR, but it doesn't mean that it's in RTR.

Actually, nuts to this. Squillis already posted this once, but here's the complete decklists for the dual decks.

I'm not editing my post regarding Elves - I've got it from three sources that they're in for the set. Same with Feast or Famine.

I am really impressed with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Especially with the Morbid and "number of creatures in your graveyard" effects from Innistrad etc., I think JGLL will be a key card in Standard for a while. Go Jarry!
