If Erayo, Soratami Ascendant is cast as the fourth spell of a turn, would she immediately flip as she comes into play?

I couldn't imagine. She would have to be in play for her trigger, which triggers with the spell is cast. So if she's cast as the fourth spell, she can't yet trigger herself.

Hmmm. I wonder if she has to be in play to recognize all spells played that turn, or if she were cast as the third spell, would she trigger as the fourth is cast?

Provided that she's in play already to take advantage of there being a 'fourth spell', then her being played third would be fine, and the ability would trigger.

No. The errata text of the card reads "Whenever the fourth spell of a turn is cast..." and as the fourth spell, Erayo would come into play AFTER being cast, thus not transforming.

Well this is kinda what I had in mind.....
I just need to know if Erayo has to be in play to "witness" all spells played in a turn or if her being cast can be part of the spell pattern.

I want to have Chronomantic Escape and Reality Strobe in a suspension cycle.
Cast Erayo as my 1st spell of the turn, I guess.
Cast Dust of Moments as my 2nd spell, which will force my suspended cards to trigger.
The two suspended cards are cast as my 3rd and 4th spells to flip Erayo.

And I realize I could play Etherium Scupltor with 2 Sensei's Divining Tops to cast infinite Tops from the top of my library but I have no use for those cards in this deck other than that combo, so I'm kinda swaying away from that.

If anyone has any better suggestions to flip Erayo in a white/blue control deck, lemme know. I'll be running Grand Abolisher and Curse of Exhaustion which is why I want the Erayo lock.

The only other option I can think of off-hand is:

Having Curse of Exhaustion in play.....and 6 mana available

Spell 1: Grand Abolisher , which shuts down the opponent for the rest of the turn
Spell 2: Erayo
Spell 3 and 4: Gigadrowse, tapping either my opponent's creatures or the two I just cast.

But again, this depends on whether Erayo has to be in play prior to the spell count, in order to "witness" the spell count.

Well actually, replicate abilities like on gigadrowse don't actually count as casting the copies. You'd need to find another spell to trigger that fourth one.

If you're just trying to up the spell count, why not something stupid like Artful Dodge or Saving Grasp? Heck, Memnite plus Saving Grasp gives you five spells for 2 mana.

Well again, like the Etherium Sculptor/Divining Top combo, those cards would have no purpose in the deck other than to build spell count. I just don't want dead cards in the deck. The cards need to be useful on their own and have purpose other than building spell count.

actually I agree with zapdos- though I would use memnite with unsummon.    It'll take time to get the combo out and memnite provides early defense as well as an attacker when the lock is established (and winning via memnite is just plain fun).  unsummon helps keep your creatures alive and controls the opponents board.  And since you get 3 spells with this two cards allowing you to add more control cards to protect the combo, and since those three spells cost only 1 mana you can flip erayo as early as turn 3 or do it later and have mana free to counter their counters/removal
