As I sit here, noisily chomping away on some Reese's Mini-cups, I am struck by the stupidity of some of the people here. *pops a few in his mouth* If there is something that is so insanely stupid that it bursts forth from your fingers into the cyber realm, infecting all of use here with it, please, for the sake of those of us that have brain cells not damaged by our mothers "accidentally" dropped us on our head and keep it bottled up for the people you know won't call you out for your ridiculous statements or vomiting forth of stupidity. Seriously, I'm begging here. I just want to read about combos and bullshit in here. I'm tired. So tired of people getting called out and then having a fucking bitch fit because they got called out. KNARF!!! If an incredible act of stupidity is your goal, do the world a favor and remove yourself from the gene pool and stop from further corrupting of the genome.

@Knarf: If you are truly mentally challenged, I have no pity for you. None at all. You have shown signs of psychopathy. Seriously, get that shit checked out.

Back to the cloud for me where I make more clouds...of smoke. :D

Related to Academic's reference papers and your allegation that I consider argumentation not benefitting development ("conflict doesn't foster self improvement and strengthening of one's self perception, esteem and general outlook on one's self and life"), I'd like to clarify some things:
1) I agree that argumentation in sense of discussion/debate is fostering social/economic/political/technical development as long as argumentation follows certain rules (business rules, rules of social interaction including respecting each other, federal laws). -> This is a kind of freedom/democracy.
2) I disagree that argumentation in sense of arguing/roasting is fostering social/economic/political development since not following certain rules (offending people, manipulating and infantilizing them) provokes reactions and consequences (here: repelling new users, muting old users, maybe closing the site) which are not the goals of this argumentation. In detail, when Academic is biting and judging others' combos and claiming that IT teaches new users by roasting them for the price of repelling 3 and winning 1 (who is allegedly even hardened and improved by this roast), then this is the wrong way and totally not acceptable. -> This is a kind of totalitarian system.
3) Don't claim that my conversation with Academic is the same as IT's roasts or has the same effects on the community. This is different. Academic will continue repelling new users independently from my approaches but I will stop this kind of conversation either after Academic will have changed his behaviour or has left this forum.
4) Even shutting down this site deems acceptable, we all have the wide range of other MTG related sites and most of them have an active moderator and/or admin; on these sites 'Academics' do not have the long time opportunity to act there like IT exhibits itself here. By the way, posting "Movie Time" related topics linking to movies in full length will not lower the risk of getting this site shot down.
5) I'm not going to surrender (like Chewy or EntropySpawn or some other users who are not longer active or maybe changed their account name) in view of Academic's language skills, it's massive offense or it's meaningless verbiage of minority related topics. This is a MTG forum where children have access and no platform for adult topics or bad behaviour. In my cultural environment this is an asset which should be protected, if you wish, take a look at http://www.bag-jugendschutz.de/eng.html.
I refuse to accept the disclosure of IT's mental garbage in this forum which I really like for it's MTG topics.
6) I would accept if IT limits itself to MTG related posts on this site in a certain kind of 'good' manner. If IT manages to get back on the straight and narrow path of rules' based conversation, then I will respect IT again. This includes my intention of no longer (how did IT called it?) 'dehumanizing' IT.
7) Translation loses a little. If you want to make sure that you offend me, be sure that I understand you. Even "Pimping away" requires an injured pride.
8) You are free to keep a neutral posture or join any side you want. If you make truce with IT, disappear in your own clouds and come back at IT's corner, I'm fine with that. It's your responsibility what kind of picture the community gets from you, as well as I'm responsible for my picture.
9) "I have no pity for you" There is no need for that. The only reason I would require some mercy would be if I would allow someone to get control over me, like accepting Academics behaviour and inactively watching it.
10) "Called out". You mean: "knarf has been challenged"... It will be my decission if I accept the challenge(s) including the conditions implied. Accepting a challenge with bad conditions (like the language, the weird topics or the foully rhetorical techniques used) by which you probably have lost before it has started, seems a little silly to me. So I prefer to shape the conditions in my sense. This includes convincing other users by means of discussion based on common rules, like no-usage of (wrong) slanders and/or showing IT up to the community highlighting IT's mental quiddity.
11) Hopefully IT will learn something from this conflict fostering its self-improvement and strengthening of its self-perception, esteem and general outlook on itself and life.

Hopefully this is enough "intellectual fucking conversation" for you ;-D

I can accept that this was to much intellectual for IT, or just there was tu much detail to understand and no chance to withstand the facts/theses presented by me.
I assume that the "real soul of this community" won't change its behaviour.
Then IT shall please continue "trying to breath new life into a dying forum", it's more like a breath of aggressive roasting than a benefit for magic interested people. If this forum has been dying in deed, one of the reason was IT for sure. More than one user has conceded in front of your ongoing verbal garbage.
If IT measures "new life" according to #posts then the goal is reached!-))
IT still stucks to lying, word-in-mouth-turning-techniques, the wrong behaviour in conversation and that is still not acceptable.
If IT wants to keep this forum alife, then IT shall stay away.

IT starts ugly conversation and keeps it alive, claims that that was other people's fault and tries to blame them. Not very clever since the threads also contain their history log. So anyone can see clearly the soul of this community!-)))

I agree that for me staying in this forum is better than leaving it due to some unsuccessful approaches of another user to manipulate me. I was, I am, I will be myself. Even if I leave this forum would loose quality. This I cannot claim on the leaving of other users.

Well, you're almost there, Knarf. You just need to lose the pretense. That's still, and may always be your weakness. And I can play off it the same way I played off of Spawn's misogyny.

You're going to find that quality is actually going to sharply turn for the better. More non-MTG discussions will allow this place a greater sense of community, and encourage new users. A lack of fear regarding confrontation will keep people's standards high. And an unpretentious, honest discourse between everyone will keep little spazfests like this from happening again.

This forum isn't dying. We have had combos come in almost daily. The main problem with this forum is the delay to get new cards in the database. This undermines the system with proxy cards which (from the looks of it) never get properly substituted out for what they actually should be.

Again, I don't see the challenge, aside from time. If TPTB have actually spent so much time making what they have so far, I am going to assume they have a cookie cutter format for each new card. Making a new folder for a set is not challenging, MTGWorkstation has people that compile card pictures, and worse comes to worse, there is Gatherer, with all the card pictures anyone would ever need.

Finding time and effort to add ~800 cards is what is so challenging.

For the record, all my knives are shaving sharp and have their very pointy tips. The Reese's issue Academic presented has merit. They do taste a little...off, but off isn't the right word. It's the same with the 8oz Reese's cups in the holiday package. That chocolate is WAY too thick, and each cup holds nearly a jar of Reese's Peanut Butter.

And as for the profiling comment, dude...seriously? How many jesters do you see walking around in their costumes? If you saw me out in the wild (real world), you wouldn't know I'm a pot smoking, knife carrying (Kershaw Trooper!! wOOt!!), online antagonizer. I am a college graduate. Veteran M:TG player, maker of chainmail armor. You would never know by looking. Unless my spiked fedora gives it away...

Actually Dying I was referring to Kefka directly. He has stated a number of times he likes to stab people, the blunt was not the sharpness of the knife, but rather...well, a blunt. Anyway you know me if I offended sorry.

4-5 people...well that's hardly worse than a smoking habit...you might want to see if it's not the people around you that have a problem...they are clearly discriminating your lifestyle choice...either that or they value human life (would have thought years of killing others would have broken them up of that little habit...kinda tough trying to live the day to day only with the fear of being wormfood...but hey nobody lives forever right?)
