My MTGO Clanleader just took me to school with this this BRUTAL lockdown combo! Have all 3 cards in play on the table. Next pay the 4 mana, tap & sac the Mindslaver to use its ability. Then tap the Ruins & pay the 2 mana to return the Mindslaver to the thetop of library. Next tap the Staff, & pay the 5 mana to draw a card. Your opponent is now in handcuffs for the rest of the game!! And if u are playing mtgo, all your opponent can do is keep clicking F6 until he or she concedes!!!

FYI: It is worth noting that when my clanleader played this combo, he had 4 Cloudposts on the table. He admitted to me that he uses whats called a "8-POST" land combo for the deck. For those that aren't familiar, I'll display the combo in a different thread. Anyhow, for the Minslaver/Academy combo to work, its NOT really necessary to have the a Staff of Domination in play. Any Instant/Sorcery will also work, such as Counsel of Soritami. :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 6 mana to play, 4 mana to use, 2 mana to return, and 5 mana to draw, requires you to have 17 mana to do this each turn. Take away 5 for the draw, as you draw every turn anyway, and that still takes 12 mana per turn. There's a combo to repeat the mindslaver every turn that only costs 8 mana per turn and still gives you your normal draw. I'll check the rest of the mindslaver combos and post it if it's not there.

My mistake, the one I'm thinking of requires the mana to cast the slaver originally, then it takes only 4 mana every turn.
