Painter's Servant + Iona, Shield of Emeria - so that your opponent can't play spells.


Blazing Archon - so that creatures can't attack you.
Mycosynth Lattice + March of the Machines + Linvala, Keeper of Silence - so that activated abilities can't be played.
Platinum Angel + Darksteel Forge - You won't lose the game.


Tajuru Preserver - Just in case.
Glorious Anthem - So that your lands won't die from March of the Machines

painters servant, and iona, shield of emeria is a combo on its own!...
this is prettyyy crazy, but it'd be kinda hard to get all that out, dont u think? O.O

You need Priveleged Position. If you are playing a vanguard against Barrin.
Reason being that if the angels are bounced, Evacuation can be cast.

With just those three? Evacuation still gets you but they could settle for a Hurkyl's Recall to have a bunch of extra mana to do stuff. Asceticism is once again inferior to Priveleged Position because when you are running Darksteel Forge, you never need to regenerate.

I'm not knocking this thread's combo, it is just that I knew there was a hole in it (aside from it not running Feldon's Cane or a graveyard reshuffler to protect from self-decking) and wanted to give it a way to patch it.

for the love of god, i can't think of the name of it, but it makes everything on my side of the battlefield, in my hand and library and graveyard colorless. completelly nullifies painter's servant and iona. then just elspeth tirel's ability with avacyn in play. yay! freedom!!!

In response, the combo takes out Mycosynth Lattice, March of the Machines, and Darksteel Forge. It Replaces them with Elesh Norn, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, and Living Plane.

It removes EVERYTHING from the game. doesn't destroy anything. Just use Mycosynth Lattice with Apocolypse. No Elspeth, no Avacyn.

That's not to mention that you have to spend a total of 54 mana to get all that in place. I need to spend 1/5 of that to get rid of it.

How are you going to play the lattice to begin with since Iona with Painters Servant will keep Mycosynth Lattice from coming into play?

Actually according to the combo lattice is already in play and it effects everybody. Though you couldnt cast apocalypse. Or could you?

If painters is in play first lattices effect will overwrite it when lattice comes into play. So lattice needs to be in play first so painters overrides the colorless
