Anvil lets you draw but the library keeps you from milling yourself and everyone else is milled

I feel you need to lock down your opponet to make this effective, because they are not getting milled fast enough, in reality they are draw 2 cards per turn discarding 1, which means they are getting to their wincons faster, especially since they can control what they discard.  maybe add a megrim and underworld so they are taking damage as well.

also for your deck to abuse this, anvil=madness

so you pack a 6 mana card in every one of your decks, because someone might play something that repeatively does 1 damage to you

No chance, the staff is from mirroden which did not exist until after Urza died

it just looks at lot like wasn't urza a planeswalker? It could have ended up on mirrodin.

I keep the Armor in one deck to offset a friends deck running the Anvil and 4 underworld dreams with 4 megrims and a bunch of draw/discard spells/creatures. The armor kills all underworld dreams damage, and the 1/* creatures like Scalpelexis.

Not to go into to many details, but Karn became a planeswalker when urza died, after Karn planeswalked away from Dominara he created Mirroden.

So if your not playing the deck that the armour is in how is it going to help you?

It's in my 5 color deck that I use most often. I just make sure I use that deck when she pulls out the Und. Dreams deck.

Now I get it, kind of difficult for me to understand, since in my playgroup we don't tell each other what we're going to play, it tends to keep the game more of a suprise, those "hey I'm playing my sliver deck, how about you play your anti-sliver deck and hose me" situations just seem kind of boring.

Because of a lack of other player at my skill level(redringer is the only one I know) I usually just try to play decks where either one could win, and having the best deck is pretty much just bragging rights.

There is no such thing as the best deck... It only takes a couple of cards to stop a deck that we think is the best deck ever!

The whole conversation about Urza's Armor is pointless. The combo listed here has nothing to do with damage. It's a very slow mill combo. Adding Underworld Dreams or Megrim would make it not a mill combo, and 4 cards for 3 damage a turn is a terrible idea anyway. Whoever mentioned using madness was brilliant. It's one of the most powerful abilities you can find for casual play. Try finding an old card called Chains of Mephistopheles. It may seem confusing at first, but when combined with the anvil, everyone will draw 2 cards then discard 2 cards each draw phase.

Underworld Dreams + Megrim + Bloodchief Ascension = 5 damage for each card drawn/discarded and 2 life gained.

How the **** would you make an anti-sliver deck? The only way I see it is mass removal.

The only anti-sliver deck cards are cards designed specifically against slivers.

Burn decks seem to be the most practical... most slivers are under a toughness of 3.

Slivers are a tribe that are weak and patetic on there on and only are a serious threat in numbers when they can take advantage of there abilitys.  and it is that fact that leads to the building of most sliver decks.  A typical (at least in my playgroup) sliver deck is 60% singleton, with mulitple copies being overlord and homing as they can be used to find the ability you need and there are usually copies for some of the more benefical ones such as crystalinne and gemhide.  But thats it most sliver decks are creature based as the addititional spell effects come from the slivers themselves.

So my antisliver decks, or anti-tribal deck to be more precise, doesn;t use plague, hivestone or what not, is WU and works by affectiving the type.  Cards like ego erasure, standardize, ovinize, humble, unnatural selection.  I don;t need to worry about sliver abilitys if there are none in play.  bounce and counters keep the bothersome ones out of action, and a multiple of token cards block attacks, until I draw or tutor my HUMILITY.  once humiltiy hits the field it is game over for sliver decks, follow it up with a glorius anthem or crovax for the icing
