This is an EDH specific interaction.
Misthollow Griffin is a stand in for Eternal Scourge (EMN, Rare). Incidentially enough, Misthollow Griffin works here too, but then the combo becomes restricted to UGx generals.
Needless to say, the real engine here is Eternal Scourge and Food Chain (MM, Rare).
From there, any green variant general acts like Prossh now for the purpose of casting and recasting.
For example...
Maelstrom Wanderer: cascade your deck
Titania: infinite landfall and tokens
Verdeloth, The Ancient: infinite saprolings
And so on...
Also, infinite ETB's/LTB's as well as infinite storm count results here as well.
