Turn your Chasm into a creature with the Wind Zendikon and than give it the Assault Suit !!! Bam u dont have to pay the Upkeep any longer.

Bonesplitter sitting for Assault Suit

and jeah i know .. its cheaper with Eon Hub
but still its a new combo ^^

I assume this is for the death-by-life-loss route and not the you-can't-damage-me route, because when the opponent controls the land, they can still damage you, unless you are focusing on the inability to attack. If this is the case, be weary of direct damage.

this is the i dont need the sac for not paying th upkeep so my opponent cant deal damage to me route.
in this cae you dont want to give the opponent chasm, but just sit back and throw direct damage at them

Will it though? It looks like everything that occurs at the beginning of the upkeep goes on the stack, so regardless as to who controls it for the rest of the turn, doesn't it still make you lose the life?

Cumulative Upkeeps are optional. You can refuse to pay them, and be forced to sacrifice the permanent, normally. With the Assault Suit strapped to the land, it can't be sacrificed, so it will remain on the board and cover you.

Nope. When the game rules hit an instance when something that is supposed to happen but can't, it ignores what can't be done and proceeds as best as possible.

So, when you decide not to pay the life, the next step is to sacrifice the land. But since you can't, that step is skipped.
