Play Mistform Warchief, and then enchant it with Call of the Kindred, at the beginning of your next upkeep, you look at the top five cards in your deck, and if there is a creature, and is a different type then Mistform Warchief, tap Mistform Warchief and play that card.

You can't change the mistform's type while the Call's ability is still resolving. It has to either be before, and a good/informed guess or after and irrelevant.

Use a changeling creature to get rid of the guesswork.
