I used to play this combo with burning vengeance, heartless summoning grave crawler and rooftop storm, but phyrexian altar is a much better because it takes away the need for two cards. props to gericault5 for helping me find that one

Why use a Skaab? Diregraf Ghoul costs a single black mana, allowing you to drop blue entirely. Rooftop Storm at the end of the day has 6 cmc and your combo can go off way sooner than that (I'm clocking it at turn three).

If you are going with blue/black or willing to go at least 2 colors anyway, just grab a diregraf captain and call it a day.
