How does waste not contribute to the combo?

Waste not gives a positive effect to you for every card your opponent discards, ie. discard creature you get a zombie token, discard land you get mana, discard anything else you get a draw.

I can't post a picture of waste not, if somebody would be so kind

It's essentially a synergy, but can become a combo depending on the opponent's hand
