have all 5 in play,

make kaldra token for 1 colorless,

sac kaldra token to ashnod altar for 2 colorless mana,

repeat until you have a lot of mana,

then start color conversion... use the colorless mana to make kaldra token, sac to phyrexian altar for 1 colored mana per 1 colorless used to make kaldra token

extremely versatile, use with any comes into play effect (pandemonium, angelic chorus etc...) or use with another sac outlet for other effects like altar of dementia :)

also note, that you can attack with the kaldra token as well, as a 9/9 indestructible, first strike, trample with haste and exiles anything it damahes

I don't know about "versatile" per se since it requires quite a bit of set up and mana, but I can definitely see this in an EDH deck. I might have to add Ashnod's Altar into my Kemba EDH...

Versatile means it can do a lot of different things. This combo uses a lot of parts to do one thing: Generate mana.

It also means it can fit in a lot of places-since its colorless and can generate anycolor mana it can go into any deck

you can use it with any sac engine (altar of dementia for example)
