Sol ring is standing for astral cornucopia. Pay just enough for one counter and let them build as you play for incredible amounts of mana

Incredible will take a while to reach, I think. Proliferate adds one counter, not doubling the total like Gilder Bairn does.

Still, nine spells later, you get ten mana of any one color, so still a good setup.
