Sac Misthollow to the Altar, then use Back from the Brink to exile it and put a token copy into play. Then, using the mana from the Altar, pay UU and the griffin returns!
So basically, it becomes:
UU: Put a 4/4 blue Griffin creature token with flying onto the battlefield.

Ashnods altar only adds colorless mana, but a good idea.

you have to pay the griffin's mana cost to get the token. So it might be UU for a token, you'll still need to pay 2UU for the griffin to come back
