I think this works...
Rescue from the Underworld seems to return the sacrificed creature from any visible zone, not just the graveyard. So, if I'm right, you could sac a creature with scavenge, exile it to pump something, and it comes back with the other creature. I like the idea of Varolz running an underworld retrieval operation.

Doesn't work. The spell returns it from the graveyard not anywhere else.

doesnt work for a couple reasons

1)rescue can bring back a saced creature from another zone, if that is where it goes at first, ie a commander goes to the command zone so rescue will pull it from there. if it goes to one zone and than moves to another rescue will look for it in the 1st zone, not find it therefore not bring it back

2) scavage can only be played as a sorcery(your turn stack empty) once you sac the slither for rescue, rescue is on the stack until it resolves, so the stack is never empty until slither is returned to play

point 2 is not quite right. Rescue creates a delayed trigger, it doesn't sit on the stack the whole time. But as we both said (though you said more precisely), Rescue looks for the creatures where they were when it was cast. If they aren't there, it does nothing for that creature.
