Get Ink-Treader on the field, then when you are ready to use a large mana combo, (and there are a lot of creatures on the field), cast Into the Fray, with Desperate Ritual spliced onto it.

Every creature on the battlefield has to attack this turn, sure, but you get three red mana for every creature on the field as well.

Add Solitary Confinement and it wouldn't matter if they attacked you or not. This is nice, though

Also, Glaring Spotlight could get around hexproof for more potential targets

Energy Tap, Liturgy of Blood, Corpsehatch and Spawning Breath have similar effects.
