I use this as a midgame win con in my omnath edh deck. They way it works is elder and the commander are on the field, timbermare gets cast, tapping down potential blockers and getting him high enough to one shot an opponent.The most I've hit someone with was 599 on a draw.

LOL! All this time I thought the Elder tapped. Looks like I'll have to dust him off and send him to HR to fill out his hiring papers...
