Have Lys Allana equiped with the bracers, play Ivy lane, then the lanowar elves (or elf of your choice). You get 2 1/1 elf tokens and 3 +1/+1 tokens on creature(s) of your choice.

First off, you get two 1/1 Elf Warrior tokens and 4 +1/+1 counters.
Secondly, the bracers don't do anything and your results (almost) showed that.
Look at the cards in your combo. The only activated ability that belongs to a creature of Llanowar Elves, because something else doesn't make it occur. Since it is a mana ability, the bracers won't help here either.
The way to remember the difference is that activating is like flicking a switch or inserting a coin. Activation also 99% of the time uses a colon ":".
Triggering typically has "when," "whenever," or "any time that" etc. Triggering almost never has a colon ":".
