Nothing untaps the Witch Engine, it provides mana, no lands actually enter the battlefield however, mana symbols mean you get mana to your pool, not that swamps appear out of nowhere. Path is also a land =>doesn't untap with Alarm

Replace kormus bell with living plane
That turns all land into creatures and intruder alarm can target it

Something that may be better is nim deathmantle and any alter. Not sure how the ruling would work on this though.

replacing bell with lands wont matter, nothing is entering the battlefield to cause the alarm to trigger

deathmantle/engine/altar will not work by itself. you will need to give it haste so it can tap for mana, or give it another creature and the alarm


easist way to abuse the engine is to pair it up with the seeker or alchemist/illusionist bracers combo

Not exactly. Both instances occur at the same time, so you'd need to get it back. Hence why it's tricky to combo with

If you have infinite black mana, why do you need it back, can't you win with that, besides getting it back is easy homeward land, brooding saurian, brand, bounce it, flicker it just some examples
as for both instances occurring at the same time, there are two key points to remember.  1) The engines ability is 2 parts, 1st generates mana, 2nd changes control of the engine.  However, those two parts are not dependent on the other.  and 2) during resolution an ability will do as much as it can and skip the parts that it can't as long as the target remains legal (for the engine, the target is your opponent, so as long as they are in the game as your opponent, your target remains legal)
 
so after you use seeker/bracers to put the engines ability on the stack dozens of times here is how the resolve
1st one: checks target,  puts mana in your pool,  gives the engine to target, on to the next one...
2nd one:checks target, puts mana in your pool, goes to give the engine-can't do it since you don't control it, oh well tried, on to the next one...
3rd-whatever: checks target, puts mana in your pool, goes to give the engine-can't do it since you don't control it, oh well tried, on to the next one...
