This is a little trick I use in my braids deck every so often. Put a little mana into prosperity, use uyo to copy it to max it out to its limit, then cheat my lands back into play if I need them anymore. Another fun play is cheating into play a staff of nin before the draw step to get the extra card suddenly.

With M14, the Braids land drop counts as the land drop for the turn.

Braids does not count toward your land for the turn. If that were true, cards like Rampant Growth would be far less useful, as you wouldn't be able to cast them on a turn where you got a land normally.

The effects that DID get changed were the ones with the wording "You may play an additional land each turn" or the like. Moving a card from one zone to another as part of an effect is different than playing a land because its a land.

Sorry, I was remembering the being of this post without the end of it.
Regardless, you are right:
305.4. Effects may also allow players to “put” lands onto the battlefield. This isn’t the same as “playing a land” and doesn’t count as a land played during the current turn.

Alright. So it works still. Awesome. Thanks for clarifying!
