Go with blue and white, splashing green if it's standard. The best multicolored deck I've seen was made around the gods and that.

I would lean toward Boros colors for Purphoros and Assemble the Legion myself. Tokens enter and trigger his ability to shock a target, swing with the tokens and activate his other ability to make them bigger.

I like the synergy with the black god and words of worship not to mention its on theme. followed by the black god, words of wild, and the red god. throw in an infinite mana combo and your good to go
The shires with gods are themed as well

The problem with a five color deck while using the gods reach their peak with devotion, especially Purphoros will gain from the gods being creatures from the get-go. You'll need a bunch of converters to make this work, from selecting Omnilands (like City of Brass or Transguild Promenade) to Artifact sources (Chromatic Lantern being the best, but also check out Theros's own Opaline Unicorn) and lets not forget color-elves (Most famous green creature falling under this category would be Birds of Paradise).
Next you'll want things that are five color, and for the most part, all of them are ridiculously powerful. I like the idea of running Sliver Legion/Reaper King and Xenograft. Other five-color crushers include Coalition Victory, Conflux, Maelstrom ____, etc.
If you are going to focus on devotion however, I would stick with the Boros suggestion. Fanatic of Mogis is extremely powerful if played right.

Well I was focusing on using the gods for enchantments and then just going nuts with everything else having stuff that plays with abilities of the gods

i'd go with white/blue... and use the enchantment creatures too... if for edh.. use Bruna, Light of Alabaster for a general or hakim loreweaver, though bruna is a lot better

Given the legacy theme, you'll need infinite mana. As everyone else has said, boros is your best shot. Both the white and red god can combo with infinite mana by creatures and triggers. I'd run a true name nemesis or two in there just to be safe from your opponents, though. Good luck!
