I would say 90% of the Spawnsire combos in the database use Training Grounds to operate, so I thought I would toss this one out there, to add some variety.

Chances are, with the Spawnsire, you are going to be using other eldrazi and eldrazi spawn. Legally, Eldrazi Spawn tokens count as both the Eldrazi creature type and the Spawn creature type. So every time an ES hits the field, it gives you extra mana equal to the number of other Eldrazi you control.

As an example:

Turn 2 - Spawning Breath (1 eldrazi token)
Turn 3 - Brood Birthing (4 eldrazi spawn), sacrifice 3 spawn and use one more red mana to cast Mana Echoes.
Turn 4 - Brood Birthing (4 Eldrazi Spawn, 9 colorless mana), Spawnsire (4 colorless mana), activate ability #1 (6 eldrazi spawn), 12 colorless mana) #1 again (8 eldrazi spawn, 22 colorless mana), ability #2 to drop your sideboard full of Lovecraftian horrors.

Very nice, especially what with keeping the infinite combo at mono-red, especially considering that T.G. is off color of the typical Eldrazi deck.

Just to correct the mana counting related to Mana Echoes...

  • You do get to count the creature itself, you even get one mana if it is the only creature you have in play (assuming it has at least one creature type). [Barclay 2003/02/21]
  • You either get zero mana or all the mana. You cannot choose an amount in between. [Onslaught FAQ 2002/09/24]
  • It counts up creatures of that type when the triggered ability resolves. The number of creatures of that type may change before the ability resolves. [D'Angelo 2009/07/19]
  • I assume the you put 1 mountain into Play each turn.
Turn 2 - Spawning Breath (1 eldrazi token)
Turn 3 - Brood Birthing (4 eldrazi spawn),
Turn 4 - sacrifice 2 spawn and use two more red mana to cast Mana Echoes. 2 spawn Tokens left
sacrifice 1 spawn and use one more red mana to cast Brood Birthing (4 Eldrazi Spawn)
This Triggers Mana Echoes 3 times adding 3x4==12 colorless mana,
cast Spawnsire (-10, 2 left), this triggers Mana Echoes adding 5 colorless mana (7 in pool), activate ability #1 (3 mana left, 7 eldrazi spawn), add 2x7 ==14 colorless mana) , #1 again (9 eldrazi spawn, 10+2x9==28 colorless mana), ability #2 to drop your sideboard full of Lovecraftian Horrors, 8 mana left...

Fair enough. Mana echoes is a bit of a math headache because of all the triggers you can create from it, but it enables so many combo decks its just sick.

now... use something to make all your creatures +1/+0 or better... and a pandemonium.... and it is infinite damage

or... do the tokens.... make a ton... (make sure you keep track of how many) and use a hellion eruption on it.. and make sure u got pandemonium out

Crap. How did I not think of this. It's beautiful.

Splash green, throw in Awakening Zone, Nest Invader, and Broodwarden. And Descendants' Path incase you can't get Mana Echoes. All is Dust and It That Betrays in the sideboard to insure Spawnsire has top notch targets. Devil's Play for an alternative win con.
