Doesn't seem like a safe play, after dropping this combo you would be extremely vulnerable to direct damage, or even just unblockable creatures.

Worst case scenario, you could always pad the deck with Thragtusks, Pelakka Wurms and Obstinate Baloths lol.

To be fair, the real worst case scenario is your opponent either countering it or using a large enough burn spell to kill you while you are waiting for the Genesis Wave to resolve.
Or using something like Gather Specimens to hijack every creature you would drop with it.
