This combo is intended for EDH, with Skullbriar as your commander:

Get Skullbriar out with the other two cards. Then when you can afford the mana to do it, exile Skullbriar with Food Chain. Use the commander rules to change his destination to the command zone and use the mana from the Food Chain and Opal Palace to re-cast him.

The first time you do this, it will pay for itself, and Skullbriar will have 2 counters on it.
