Basal Thrull is standing in for Blood Artist, and Engineered Plague is in for Illness in the Ranks.

War-Riders toss your opponent an increasing number of tokens, which will immediately die thanks to Illness in the Ranks. The Blood Artist, seeing this, will take an equally increasing amount of life from target opponent and give it to you.

Addendum: If you want to turn this combo into a lock, add Tainted Aether. The tokens will die before they can be sacrificed to the Aether, resulting in your opponent sacrificing more and more creatures and lands.
