With both permanents on the field, discard creature cards to the graveyard using Survival and at the end of the turn bring those creatures to the battlefield at no cost! Of course be sure to have a creature already on the field

Not your fault, since the card has never been reprinted to have updated text, but the creature has to go to the graveyard from the battlefield (aka, die), for Lifeline to trigger.
