This may be overkill, but it makes sense and can go in any color(less) deck.
Platinum Emperion doesn't prevent damage from being dealt, hence it leaves its controller vulnerable to infect (which was huge in its block).
Glacial Chasm prevents damage from occuring, but slowly saps its controller's life total.
Put them together and one's strengths abolishes the other's weakness.
...you can also be a jerk and throw in Darksteel Forge and Platinum Angel.

Now just toss a Diplomatic Immunity on the Collossus and you're set. Otherwise its a full on Disenchant target haha. But good shit!! I took my break from Magic after Worldwake and Zendikar, just before the New Phyrexia and Dark sets. Ive never seen this card haha. Good stuff

Sorry to say, it doesn't work. Cumulative upkeep is a payment, and the Emperion says you can't pay life. So once the golem hits, you can't maintain the chasm anymore.

something that would have the desired effect, would be to use
Platinum Emperion
Melira, Sylvok Outcast
Avacyn, Angel of Hope
Privileged Position
Sterling Grove
