1)Get all of them in play
2)Activate the Thran Weaponry
3)Sacrifice the Black Lotus for UUU
4)Use the Academy Ruins on the Black Lotus
5)Cast the Black Lotus
6)Repeat steps 3-5 as needed. You don't always need to create UUU
Can you believe you can actually use this to get infinite amounts of any color mana you want? Isn't it great, guys?
Okay, I'm going to be honest here, this combo is a joke. That being said, I can totally see being attempted at Tolaria, among ridiculous things, when the academy was still around.

replace the Thran Weaponry by

Oh, hey, I do need a land-to-artifact bit going on to untap the Ruins, don't I? I can't quite remove theThran Weaponry without a Glorious Anthem type card to replace it because I can't have the March of Machines killing off the Ruins and Lotus. I picked Thran Weaponry because of its renowned low ratings, its being colorless, and it fit the whole feel of someone experimenting at Tolaria.
