Swamp is illusionist's bracers. With all components out, place bracers on voltaic key for infinite mana. Only thing this brings is an element of surprise really. To make it better, go mycosynth lattice or liquimetal coating on any mana rock. Just don't target a land.

Indeed it is pointless. As the March of the Machines makes the Bracers a creature, they can't be equipped anymore.

terakhan, The equipment doesn't lose its activated abilities just because the card type changes.  Neither does the equipment card lose its card text that explains the benefit of equipping.  I'm not aware of any rule that says you cannot activate equipment abilities if the equipment is a creature.  So I think you should be able to.

Another situation where I think you can equip a creature to a creature is if you play Skill Borrower and the top card is an equipment, although in this case, it would gain the activated ability to equip without gaining the equipment's text, so equipping would have no effect.

Please correct me if you know of a specific ruling to the contrary...

Actually, yes, the rules do specificly state, "equipment that is a creautre cannot equip a creature". Sadly. How would that work anyway haha? I attack you with my 6/6 flying Demon with a 2/2 Elf on his back? haha
