Here's the first of the broken combos I thought of with this card......feel free to add your own.....



Unlimited mana by turn......um.....3 or less?

Ah scrap this......training grounds can't reduce the cost to less than 1.......doesn't work.

Yeah, but Heartstone has the same restriction......can't reduce the cost by less than 1.

Reduces mana cost to 1 spend one get one but untapped tap again use that mana to untap and bam infinite mana

It works with Training ground but its making my head hurt.

I'm confused...


Oh now i get it... Both Training ground and heartstone can't reduce the activation cost to 0.

Right. Pili-Pala would still have an activation cost of 1 to untap.  But after looking at it further......

Tap Pili :     1 mana in pool
Untap Pili :  You use the first mana, but get a mana in return.    1 mana in pool
Tap Pili :     2 mana in pool
Untap Pili :  You use one mana, but get one in return.    2 mana in pool
Tap Pili :     3 mana in pool

etc. etc. etc.

So, actually.......yes this combo still works, and is BROKEN.    Ha!

Training Grounds decreases creatures activation cost... thus pili-pala's untap ability becomes "1:untap:Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."
