Amazing! And characterful. The priest's endless tortured existence fuels the combo

WOW that's really good! Note that you'd need two priests though to make it infinite.

Why would you need more than one? You can target the sacrifice, couldn't you? lol

You cannot return the creature which you are sacrificing. This is because you choose the target creature card at the same time the sacrifice is happening, so the sacrifice is not in the graveyard yet. [DeLaney 1998/06/10]

hey, I agree that you can get the sacrificed creature 'cause it is sacrifice as a cost, so resolves first of all. Didn't enter at the stack. isn't it?

Best example of sac stack is Hell's Caretaker. Tap to activate, target a creature to sacrifice, target the creature to return. The graveyard effect happens, the sacrifice happens. You can't target a creature in your graveyard before it's there.

Reason it seems confusing is that people shortcut there way through playing spells and abilities, such as declaring the target when paying the cost
However there are actually 6 steps to playing a spell or ability, choosing a target is step 3 and then paying the cost is step 5, so as kefka mentioned sacced creature is not in the grave when step 3 occurs
