Each creature gets +1/+1 for each other creature on the battlefield that shares at least one creature type with it. (For example, if two Goblin Warriors and a Goblin Shaman are on the battlefield, each gets +2/+2.)

Forest= any merfolks
So I bought one of the starter decks and pulled the simic legend. Then came up with a combo that would abuse her ability. Play coat of arms in a tribal merfolk deck and let the +1/+1 counters raise on her. When she comes out, she'll have double the amount of counters and you'll have a much better card advantage :). Thinking about making this  a commander, but running no instants or sorceries but one-> primal surge. Post and tell me what you think of the combo and/or the idea :)
