Ghost Council is actually it's most recent incarnation Obzedat, Ghost Council.

When Obzedat, Ghost Council enters the battlefield, target opponent loses 2 life and you gain 2 life.
At the beginning of your end step, you may exile Obzedat. If you do, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control at the beginning of your next upkeep. It gains haste.

Tie this in with Extort and you've got yourself a pretty sweet setup.

You realize that glacial chasm's upkeep is cumulative upkeep, meaning: you have to surrender +2 more life than the previous turn.

So in retrospect, you will be losing more than 2 life/turn.

Add blind obedience to control the game almost entirely. Pretty good combo :)
 
And you can also constantly gain life with the right setup, anyways lol

Ya, I know it's cumulative but if you play it with cheap flicker spells like Cloudshift plus extort, you could easily outclock your opponent. Besides, if you're too hurt to pay the life or it becomes too much to handle, just refuse to pay the upkeep, 'sac it and attack with your 5/5 hasty spirit team lol.

Or if you want to make it infinite and completely unplayable you could splash blue for Followed Footsteps on a Soul Warden lol.

Another option is to add hex parasite to keep chasm at 1 counter for 1B each turn
