This doesn't work. According to the M12 rule change play means cast. Presence of Gond merely puts the token onto the battlefield.

Use Midnight Guard from Dark Ascension instead. Infinite combo with commons. What a world we live in.

Yes, use midnight guard because this is very effective and can be easily done. This is a very good infinite combo.
