I do this in my mono black discard deck. Basically play Mind Sludge while you have Quest for the Nihil Stone and Guul Draz Specter out. You'll get at least 2 counters on Quest for the Nihil Stone and Guul Draz Specter will get +3/+3 making him a 5/5. Swing for 5 and next turn they'll lose 5 life, draw and if they play the card they draw Guul Draz Specter will get +3/+3 and if not then you can still use him to discard it next turn and they lose another 5 life.
Do this to keep your opponent locked while they lose life.

Add one Liliana's Caress and the game is basically settled.
